Política de acceso abierto

The Perspectives of Public Policies Magazine maintains its commitment to the policies of open access to scientific information, considering that both scientific journals and publicly funded research should circulate on the Internet freely, free of charge and without restrictions.

Already in 1999, the Declaration on science and the use of scientific knowledge of Unesco advocated "free movement of information" and "equal access to science". The various subsequent statements and the progressive adherence to this movement by authors, editors, scientific publications and academic institutions, built the structure for the development of an Open Access movement to scientific production.

Under the banner of this movement, various financing models were generated. For example, the "hybrid" model in which, prior to placing the contents in open access, the journals make an embargo for a period of time, in which they charge for access to published articles (pay-per-view) . Or the model based on the collection of "editorial processing charges" in which the cost of editorial production is transferred to the authors, who must also pay an extra amount to place the content in open access.

The Public Policy Perspectives Magazine ratifies the Open Access model in which the contents of scientific publications are available in full text, free and free on the Internet, without temporary embargoes, and whose editorial production costs are not transferred to the authors . This policy proposes breaking the economic barriers that generate inequities both in access to information and in the publication of research results.

The Perspectives of Public Policies Magazine is a magazine funded by the National University of Lanús, does not charge any value to the authors for the edition and publication, and undertakes to disseminate the works published in Open Access indexing services and in the different repositories using Open Archives Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) protocols (see Indexing Services).

In addition, Perspectivas Magazine of Public Policies does not retain the rights of reproduction or copying (copyright), so that the authors may have the final versions of publication, in Spanish and English, to disseminate them in institutional repositories, personal blogs or any other means electronic, with the sole condition of mentioning the original source of publication, in this case, Public Policy Perspectives Magazine.
