Abstract

The aim of this work is to analyze the social organizationof care in Argentina. In the first place, we studythe debates about welfare studies and how feminism contributes on this issue. Then, we address current discussionson care, and how it can be used as an analyticaltool for social policies. Specifically, we analyze the case ofthe Universal Assignment by Child (AUH), to exploreassumptions about care and role of women that underliethis public policy. Finally, we explore the possible effects ofthese assumptions on women’s labor participation.
