Implications of the informal / illegal mining About the Quality of Family Life: Huamachuco, Peru
Abstract
This study analyzes the informal/illegal mining scenario as well as its implications on the quality of life of the families of Huamachuco, La Libertad, Peru. In the methodology, qualitative research was used to identify the situation of the domains of life “before and after mining”. These data were analyzed by the Alceste program. The results indicate that mining has a limited contribution to the quality of life of families, because, despite increasing yields, work is unstable, with negative repercussions on the environment and human health.
