Focusing on childhood and adolescents’ rights: public policy paradigms and practices in Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires Province (2005-2014).
Abstract
There are different paradigms and perspectives within the field of public policies for childhood. They are based on social representations that become practices, devices and structures on child problems according to the dominant vision of each time. This paper assumes a position that combines different paradigms since, exploring the institutional everydayness of childhood organizations, a plurality of social practices emerges. These tend to set up from below an institutional scene grounded on co-responsibility. So, based on previous research, this article offers some reflections upon the local system which promotes and protects child rights in the province of Buenos Aires, taking Lomas de Zamora as a case study.
