Abstract

This paper studies the evolution of the household percentage with access to the sewer network and drinkable water in Argentina using the Encuesta Permanente de Hogares (EPH) for the period 2003-2009. The results show that coverage differ across different regions, and there was a continuous increment in the coverage in both dimensions. In addition, we study the presence of structural breaks in the evolution of these indicators. A deaccelerating process is observed from 2012 in sewerage, and in drinkable water from 2014. Thus, if the goal is to achieve full coverage the level of investment should be maintained to the previous levels, mostly in sewerage.
