Abstract
Professor Benjamin Moffit, a political scientist at the University of Melbourne in Australia, presents his book as a guide “to understanding the keyword of contemporary politics” (cover); as “the first accessible introduction to the subject as a concept in political theory” (p. 19). It consists of an organization of approaches and interpretations of a variety of authors located in the same epistemological perspective. Moffit does not conduct case or process analyzes that add new elements or perspectives; he works with the material provided by the selected works. The references to specific experiences are not intended to test the proposed organizational categories but, conversely, to show the heuristic effectiveness of these categories with respect to the referred phenomena.
