Abstract

In this work we focus on the actions of collaborative work platforms based on competitions such as GalVMed and AgResults in semi-peripheral countries. For this, we approach a case study: the development of a veterinary vaccine against brucellosis, DeltaPgM for small ruminants (DeltaPgMpr) in Argentina, by Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM). The case of the DeltaPgMpr vaccine allows us to analyze the actions of philanthropic foundations, non-profit associations such as GalVMed and consortia like AgResults, in addition to other national institutions, in relation to development of new technologies, making visible the geopolitical difficulties and barriers faced by semi-peripheral countries like Argentina.
