Persistent inequality in Chile. An analysis of CASEN´s 2022 turnout

Abstract

This article analyzes inequality within Chile considering the results of the Casen 2022 survey. Based on the above, it is intended to generate a reflection on these results by looking at the current situation in Chile, conducting a review of the Latin American literature on inequality, poverty and the role of Chilean public policy in this regard. The work presented allowed us to redefine the concept of inequality by incorporating a multimensional perspective, emphasizing that this would be the result of the interrelation between the political, economic and social dimensions. Based on this, a review of the role that the State plays in the promotion of public policies aimed at achieving higher levels of equality in Chilean society.
