En torno a los profesionales de la política. Trayectorias, prácticas y destrezas en el ejercicio del poder político desde el estado

Abstract

This work puts forward a reflection about the characteristics of the political profession in Argentina as from the comeback of democracy. Based on research carried out among top-ranking officers of the Ministry of the Interior –a ‘political’ agency par excellence within the Executive branch–, we will inquire into the core characteristics of these governmental elites: their political socialization, prior trajectories and methods to access the state, as well as the ways of ‘doing politics’ which are expressed in this context, the knowledge and skills which are displayed there and the existence of codes shared among the different professionals of politics. Likewise, we will question the perception and evaluation categories which the actors themselves within the political sphere exhibit in the real world, and the possible unbalances of these categories in relation to other evaluation levels.
