Public policies and political parties: the important role of informal institutions. Theoretical definitions and study of the case of UCR
Abstract
This paper advances an organizational analysis of political parties in order to understand the specific features of their internal operation. It starts from the assumption that there are important spheres of organizational informality which condition their operation and we assume that it is necessary to gain a better understanding for a more efficient implementation of public policies on them. This work presents a thorough analysis of the case of the Argentine Radical Civic Union (Unión Cívica Radical), a political party which –unlike the Justicialista Party – has not been systematically studied from an organizational perspective
