The international insertion of SMEs through export consortiums in Argentina: their strenghs and pending issues
Abstract
The SME’s internationalisation is a paramount aspect in the challenge faced by Latin American economies which seek to increase competitiveness and social inclusion. In this work, we analise export consortiums in Argentina, an experience that may be of great utility for other Latin American countries. Our conclusions are that export consortiums can be a very useful instrument for SMEs as a tool to start or expand exports. Yet their global impact is still limited because of several obstacles which led as to propose some public policies oriented to promote the consolidation of the export consortiums.
