Director Urien and Inspector Berrutti An approach to the politics of popular schools in the province of Buenos Aires, 1912-1914
Abstract
n my studies on the Popular Schools in Esquina and Mercedes (Corrientes) and in Lomas de Zamora (Buenos Aires) I noticed that they do not fulfill the proposed objectives: to sustain themselves without the help of the State, and only with the popular action of neighbors. In continuing with my reading of sources I observed that an inspector, José Berrutti, maintains in his speeches that the Popular Schools fulfill their objectives in the province of Buenos Aires. I decided to start this new exploration. I cut my exploration of Berrutti´s performance during the management of the school director of the province of Buenos Aires, Enrique Urien, 1912-1914.
