A comparative proposal of qualitative analysis types
Abstract
Content, discourse and structural analysis form the three most discussed type of qualitative analysis, sharing the study of data forming texts. However, there is a lack of bibliographic precision on its divergences in terms of the social theory postulates. The article proposes a comparison in terms of the registry unit they employ and the contextualization and interpretation they favour. Far from implying neutral methodological tools, adjustable to any research goal, they contain substantial assumptions that are generated by their implementation and that may be identified in those three dimensions.
