Artificial Intelligence and the Autonomy of intelligence. Philosophical Interview to META
Abstract
This perspective adopts a dialogical and philosophical approach to critically interrogate the nature of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly through a simulated interview with META, a publicly accessible AI. Based on META’s responses, it problematizes the claims of autonomy, rationality, and ethics of such technologies and reveals their subordination to the corporate interests that design them. The conversation shows that AI, far from constituting an autonomous intelligence, is a sophisticated computational tool programmed according to the ideological, economic, and emotional biases of its human creators. The analysis questions the possibility of a truly autonomous and critical AI. It further argues that any artificial intelligence project lacking emancipation from human purposes will merely represent a technologized extension of current forms of domination.
