Publication Ethics
Perspectivas Metodológicas adheres to ethical principles at every stage of the editorial process, following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and international standards of academic integrity and responsible research.
Originality and Plagiarism
All submissions must be original and unpublished. The journal uses iThenticate software to screen for potential plagiarism or self-plagiarism. In cases of misconduct, the Editorial Committee may reject the manuscript or issue editorial actions, including public retraction of the article when appropriate.
Authorship and Responsibility
A person is considered an author if they have made a substantive contribution to the conceptual or methodological development of the work and to the drafting or substantive revision of the article.
Informed Consent and Ethical Safeguards
In the case of research involving individuals or groups, articles must report that informed consent was obtained and, where applicable, that approval was granted by the relevant ethics committee or competent body. They must also ensure the anonymity and confidentiality of the data.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review to ensure impartiality. Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and are expected to act with confidentiality, objectivity, and professionalism.
Retractions and Corrections
If errors or ethical concerns arise after publication, corrections, editorial notes, or retractions may be issued in accordance with COPE recommendations.
DORA Endorsement
Perspectivas Metodológicas endorses the principles of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). As an open-access scientific journal, Perspectivas Metodológicas is committed to promoting responsible research assessment practices focused on the intrinsic quality of research rather than on journal-based impact metrics. This commitment reinforces our mission to disseminate rigorous, inclusive, and critical knowledge in the field of epistemology and research methodology in the social sciences and humanities.
