Perspectivas Metodológicas, ISSN 1666-3055 / eISSN 2618-4125, is an open access scientific journal, with an annual periodicity and continuous publication, edited by the Master’s Program in Research Methodology of the Department of Humanities and Arts at the Universidad Nacional de Lanús.

Since its founding in 2000, the journal has established itself as a pluralistic and open forum for the exchange of ideas among local, national, and international researchers from various disciplines and schools of thought, addressing issues related to Methodology and the Philosophy of Science, social practices, and the ethical dimensions that underlie them.

In its early years, the journal was published in print format. As of issue 17, it adopted a digital format and a continuous publication model, in accordance with international standards for open access, visibility, and academic knowledge dissemination. Since then, the journal has been published exclusively through the UNLa Scientific Journals Portal “Arturo Peña Lillo” and includes the assignment of DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) for all its articles. It also incorporates ORCID identifiers for authorship and collaboration.

This new stage also saw the incorporation of the Dossier section, whose main content derives from the Working Papers of the Specialization in Research Methodology and from the Research Center on Scientific Theories and Practices at UNLa. This section features works related to scientific and academic research across all fields of knowledge, such as management reports, project communications, and outreach activities.

The journal is structured into four permanent sections:

• Articles: original contributions by specialists on topics relevant to epistemology and the social sciences and humanities.

• Perspectives: brief critical studies addressing current debates of philosophical, methodological, or scientific interest.

• Research Reports: findings and progress from ongoing or completed empirical research.

• Reviews: critical commentary on recent scholarly publications.

Since issue 5, Perspectivas Metodológicas has been indexed in Latindex. Over time, it has expanded its indexing to include LatinREV, EBSCO, and Dialnet, and is currently under evaluation for inclusion in other national and international scientific journal directories and databases.

The journal provides digital access to all previously printed issues and continues to strengthen its position as a leading scientific publication in the Latin American academic context. Its editorial policy is defined by academic rigor, ethical commitment, and a strong emphasis on the democratization of knowledge.
