Abstract

A comparison is made of the historical development of the infant mortality rate of Argentina with other american countries in the second half of the 20th century. A comparison is also made of the historical evolution of the infant mortality rate of the city of Buenos Aires and its agglomeration with other cities of South America and of the world. The relative deterioration of the placing of Argentina in relation to its infant mortality rate is made clear.
