Mental Health and human rights: challenges for services and communities
We present here the articles accepted for the call "Mental Health and human rights: challenges for services and communities," which brings together studies from España, Brasil, México y Chile. As the editorial mentions, " The viral pandemic that we are experiencing has exposed the fragility of our health and social services and certified the inequality and precariousness of the living conditions of many people.” This collection of articles “present conceptual experiences and reflections on community action plans and programs, contributing toward better knowledge and development of mental health in the region.”
We acknowledge the coordination carried out by Rosana Onocko-Campos, research professor of the Department of Collective Health, Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Brazil); Larry Davidson, professor of Psychiatry and director of Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health, Yale School of Medicine (USA); and Manuel Desviat, former PAHO/WHO advisor, and former Asociación Española de Neuropsiquiatría - Profesionales de la Salud Mental president (Spain), as guest editors, as well as the invaluable work carried out by the reviewers that is so crucial to putting into circulation relevant research within this thematic area. We also thank the authors for their active participation in the revision and editing of their texts and above all for choosing Salud Colectiva as the distribution channel for their work.
